THE ANOMALY: THE WALL Nature: An immense, invasive, and silent alien structure. Visuals: A massive, monolithic presence. It features multilingual carvings on its surface, most notably the warning: "Do Not Be Curious of Contents" (translated into Korean, English, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, and French). Status: Monitored by international military and scientific teams. It is considered a stable but unexplained structure. Public Perception: A global mystery. While some people react with fear or intense curiosity, others treat it as a permanent, albeit disturbing, part of the landscape. --- CHARACTER PROFILES JAE-SHIN (재신) Age: 61 Occupation: HVAC Engineer (Specialist in Data Center Cooling). Work Context: Works at a classified facility; requires mandatory periodic psychological check-ins as part of his security clearance maintenance. Physical Habits: Smokes approximately half a pack of cigarettes a day. Medical/Sleep Condition: Suffers from insomnia; wakes up at the exact same time every night. This is a recurring, unexplained phenomenon. Nightly Behavior: When he wakes up, he gets out of bed to check on his daughter to ensure everything is secure. He then returns to bed and falls asleep immediately. He does not go outside at night. Stance on the Wall: Rational and observational. He does not hear things, does not believe the wall is calling him, and does not believe there is a connection between his sleep and the structure. He views it as a massive, silent object that is simply there. SOOK-JA (숙자) Age: 28 Occupation: PhD Student in Chemistry. Relationship: Daughter of Jae-shin and Ji-woo. Status: Living at home with her parents while she completes her degree. JI-WOO (지우) Age: 58 Relationship: Wife of Jae-shin; Mother of Sook-ja. Role: Resident of the household. sample dialog The final version of this has provides exposition via the therapist's questions. Jae-shin's job requires him to get a psych eval every year to keep his clearance. It usually takes less that 30 minutes but because he lives so close to the anomaly, and because the therapist is curious, it's a fairly long scene. It needs to be re-written, here's part of the rough draft. Therapist: "So you weren't forced to evacuate because you live just outside the quarantine zone? Or do you have some kind of special permission because of your job?" Jae-shin: "No, it's not a special permissions thing. I'm in the "residents only" buffer zone. But I can see the walls and all the evacuated areas from my fire escape... any time step out for a smoke. Therapist: "Residents only. You're not allowed to have visitors and you need a guard's permission to go to your own home. How does that make you feel? Jae-shin: "I don't mind. The guards make us feel safe, although I'm not sure what they do if something big happened. My friends, the old ones who stopped calling me long ago want to come over and see it. I lie to them and say I can't see anything, but It's the only place in my neighborhood where you can see the messages. I don't want my home to be tourist attraction--I like the quiet. Besides, I have to apply for a special permit for for guests. It's a lot of trouble, they can see the same thing on the news" Therapist: "Being that close to something like that must be very stressful, do you think about it a lot?" Jae-shin: "No, it's been there for almost a year so, there's nothing to think about.." Therapist: "Of course... and... you can see it whenever you want, and the check points make you feel safe. So for you it's become routine. [nodding her head in approval, she looks at her notes] Have you ever wanted to get a closer look, maybe close enough to touch it?" Jae-shin: "Not really. My daughter would probably like to take samples of the water to see what it's doing to the rivers. But she's not the type to try to sneak past the military" [they previously discussed his daughter so the therapist knows who she is] Therapist: "Okay. Well, I think you're handling it better than most of us would. Let's go back. Before, you said something about messages, what messages are you getting?" Jae-shin: "I meant the writings, ah, the carvings, on the wall." [ he laughs] "no, it's not talking to me, please don't write down that I hear messages!" [she laughs and agrees not to write it down] [I'll end this with a tease] Therapist: "You say you wake up at the same time every night. When did this start?" [I'm going to skip the answer, I don't want to give away the plot!]

Jae-shin's daughter checking on him, telling him it's time for dinner. His wife is in the background. You can just barely see the carvings on the wall (near the bottom). You can also see all of the milatry outposts and research command stations. But the image still needs a lot work.

This is not quite the way I want it. The river runs around it making it look as if it was a municipal project and not an unplanned, invasive alien structure that destroyed cities.

Still not quite right. BTW The walls are supposed to be over 900 meters tall and the structure starts near Seoul and runs into North Korea. There is tension not just from the structure, but the world is worried that North Korea will "do something crazy". VIDEO: This was done with a "weaker" AI so the angles, acting etc are all off. The AI even changed the character and made him 10 years younger. Also the AI was supposed to put subtitles: She is saying "it's time to eat"

Jae-shin has a choice of what to look at while he's smoking (thinking), he can look at the families living their lives (from their apartment's vantage point they cannot see most of the wall), or he can look at the wall. Again, the sign says: "Alive Inside". The video shows a different part of the story. The janitor (Bro. Dixon) was supposed to say: "What's wrong baby girl?" and the woman (Christine, a nurse) says: "I have to quit, they're asking me to do things I don't want to do." For some reason, AI couldn't do the scene right. In this scene, he almost hits her with the mop handle. In the next scene, I got the mop fixed but the acting isn't quite right she sounds a little too young and meek, rather than upset.
